One of my simple pleasures at home in the Summertime!
My family was invited to visit my sister in Florida one winter. I love the warm weather and was happy to take her up on this offer. I went with my three children. It was so nice to get away. As a homeschool family, we don’t usually take a spring break. We normally push through the school year and hope to get done early. After spending this time with her, I realized how much we really all did need a break.

The children were very relaxed, everyone got along, and it was a well-deserved vacation for all of us. While I was there, I noticed she had a hammock in one of the rooms in the home. I found my way into it and my little boy joined me. We both fell asleep in the hammock and I had the best sleep in a long time. Something about the hammock. It was so comfortable! I realized I had just found my new happy place.
For my next birthday, guess what I asked for? Yes, I asked for my very own hammock. My husband purchased it for me and I am so grateful. I love it!
A friend of mine was over when it arrived and we had a lot of fun putting it together. It was easy to assemble. Spring, summer, and fall I have my hammock outside. When I need a rest and some sunshine, I go to my happy place. It is so big that I can cocoon in it and feel like no one can find me. I love to look at the clouds and watch the trees sway in the breeze. I can nap, read a book, pray and just get away. It is so peaceful! If it is windy, I sway in the breeze and yet the hammock still blocks the wind if it is chilly.
It was so nice to be able to go on vacation that winter. We had a blast. I discovered that we do need to take a breaks and refresh and am very grateful for that time we had together. But, I can’t always fly to another state so now I can take time out to refresh at home. There you have it. How I discovered my happy place at home…my hammock.
