Our Heart…in a World that Needs Jesus
What happened to Charlie Kirk was so tragic, yet, as only the Lord can do, He turned what the world meant for evil into Good. This event has ignited a fire in our hearts and minds to do what is right and is leading people to Christ. Charlie said to:
Get Married
Have Children
Build a Legacy
Pass down your values
Pursue the eternal
Seek True joy
I have been watching his videos and the brilliance in how he answers so many questions with scripture and wisdom. He worked hard and God had given him what he needed to change hearts and minds to do what is right.

When I look at the words he spoke above, I thought about on our mission at joyfaithstrength.com. If you read my posts they relate to what Charlie had been saying.
Christian inspiration for your homes, marriage, and families is our heart. We want to encourage and support marriages and families to strive with Christ Jesus as their rock. We give practical ways to help keep marriages strong and to raise their children in a Godly way.
Marriages need Jesus as their foundation. If you don’t know Jesus. Repent for your sins (we are all sinners), believe in your heart Jesus is Lord, and ask him into your heart. He will never leave or forsake you and He is faithful in all he does.
Read the Bible and learn what Jesus meant for marriage and family. The Bible says marriage is between a man and a woman, to be fruitful and multiply, to obey His laws for they are for our benefit. The joy of seeing the fruits of your labor. The joy of seeing people come to Christ. The joy of building your legacy that will pass down your values for generations to come. It gives us purpose and is God’s plan.
We started this site because we wanted to help families follow a path that may go against the worldly views and how everyone else is doing it.
We followed the Lord and raised our family the way we felt He lead us. My husband and I were new Christians when we married. The Lord did a work in our lives. Then we wanted children and we had to wait. God’s timing wasn’t ours, but when it did happen we wanted them to grow in the Lord and I knew I wanted to be home with them.
We prayed about it and felt led that my place was home with them. We would trust the Lord to guide us.
We discovered “Growing Kid’s God’s Way” by watching other families in our community and wanted what they had. We had a support group thankfully to encourage us as we did things together. We homeschooled and I stayed home.
Yes, We received a lot of flack for this during the time. It wasn’t the “popular” choice…
“But that isn’t how we did it.” said many. I’ve raised kids for years, you are doing it wrong. Or you are a professional and you should be working, let the school teach your kids so you can make more income. While I was pregnant, I went to a seminar to keep up my continuing education credits. You would not believe the looks I received. They looked at me like I was crazy to be having a baby. I just thought wow, my priorities are so different now.
Eventually, people saw the fruit in our children. They would say they are different. I liked that. They are different. They are a light to Jesus. None of us are perfect, but people see something in them that they don’t see in others. That makes it all worth the days of nurturing, teaching, discipline, loving hugs, and years of pointing them to Jesus. It was teaching them to obey right away, all the way, with a happy heart when little and then giving them the “why” with scripture of why we do things as they got older. They new our marriage came first and they were an extension of us. We have been married over 33 years, our children are grown, and we are debt free on one income. Although sometimes my hubby worked two jobs to provide, but that is what it takes sometimes to stick to your values. God is faithful.
So Yes, you may get flack from some for wanting these values in your life. You need to stay strong, have faith, and find joy in the blessings that follow. The fruit will come. I will continue to provide insights from our experience that I hope will encourage you to stay the course. We want marriages and families to stay strong for Jesus and for you to be blessed in the ministry of your marriage, home, and family. God is moving and it all starts at home. Being a parent to your children is your Ministry. Let’s go and make disciples. Thank you Jesus for Charlie Kirk and igniting a fire in all of us to direct people to you. God bless him and his family. May their ministry stay strong and may more families come to know Christ.
